Allow me to reverse my usual order:
The first Arkham Asylum was the best Batman anything in quite some time (I personally preferred it to the recent movies, but I suppose that’s some sort of blasphemy). Also, I like this song they’ve decided to put Batman up against. In fact, I downloaded the song and another called How You Like Me Now – I’ve the two on repeat for the last hour or so.
That’s standard madness for me – whenever I get a new song I put it on repeat until such time as I’m bored with it. Sometime later it joins the usual routine of songs. By then I’ve usually forgotten whatever it was that drew me to the song in the first place.
Work – what a drag. Not worth the time to discuss.
Creekside – busy, far too busy to discuss.
Writing – none this week but maybe some today? Certainly tomorrow. I absolutely must finish this chapter. It’s been going far too long.
And that really should be about it. I’m still wrangling with my side project entry (second entry was earlier today.) I’ve also been teaching myself how to write iPhone/iPad applications. For now I’m concentrating on web apps that don’t use Cocoa Touch or Objective-C – that’s the next book after the one I’m currently reading.
Outside of watching the batman trailer, my dose of media has mostly been Shogun Total War 2 and watching the last few episodes of Ghost in the Shell Season 1. Shogun Total War is pretty standard take-over-the-world fare. As the Shimazu Clan, I’ve spent the last decade fighting off starvation so my border line treasonous head general can take over the Chosokabe island. In the north, I have the Shoni clan as a vassal – a rabid group of pernicious warriors who’ve thrice been wiped out and reemerged somehow to take over a trio of soft provinces. They’ll be wiped out by larger and stronger clans eventually, but in the mean time I’ve got a nice buffer between me and the big generals.
Ghost in the Shell ended well. The Laughing Man mystery was interesting but who and why did they show the stock trade Togusa’s computer after the bit about the gold collector. I feel like they should have followed up on that…
Lastly, my favorite living author’s series of fantasy novels is being turned into an HBO series. I’ve mentioned that before but it starts for real next month – April 17th. Can’t wait. It’s genuinely the only thing I’ve been excited about on television in maybe two or three years. I was vaguely interested in Tin Man when they realized that on SyFy (I cringe typing that)…how long ago was that?
And now I’ve gone off and written almost five hundred words. Enough from me. Next week I hope to have nothing to say except that I finished a chapter and started the next one. Cheers to that plan, eh? Oh, and Happy St. Patties Day.
